The Friends of the Library took 1st Place of the Mayor’s Choice Award BSBPA (Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association) Ballston Rocks Contest!

Our membership renewal was a huge success. At the annual meeting a review of accomplishments over the past year and goals and objectives for 2008-09.

Laura Fiske, president and Ginny Humphey, treasurer are willing to stand for re-election. The Friends achieved a 84 percent renewal rate! If you are one of the few that did not renew, please renew as soon as possible.

Accomplishments 2007-08:

Sponsored installation of wireless internet at library
Participated in BSBPA Adirondack Rocking Chair contest – 1st Place ribbon in Mayor’s Choice category
Sponsored two children’s programs in July 2008
Participant in annual Village Holiday Parade – float dedicated to Adirondack Chair Contest

Who We Are

A dedicated group of library users who support the Ballston Spa Public Library by promoting and enhancing library services. Volunteers who accept no payment other than the satisfaction of having helped out their library.

What We’ve Done Recently

* Funded installation of wireless internet at the library
* Purchased lounge furniture for the renovated upstairs
* Offered a cemetery walk as part of the village bicentennial
* Funded a Recorded Books subscription that provides books on CD for the library collection
* Sponsor a monthly book discussion group
* Help with book sales and other events
* Purchased library directional signs
* Purchased benches for outdoor seating area
